Polling software is used to help interface with electronic cash registers. However, you need to first register the software to validate that you are the legal owner. Some software includes a hard copy registration card that must be completed and mailed to the manufacturer. Increasingly, companies are asking software owners to register online.

If a registration card is included provide the information requested and mail it to the manufactuer. If there is no physical card, you may need to register via the Internet.
2Make sure you're installing the polling software on a computer that has an Internet connection. Install the polling software according to the manufacturer's instructions. As part of the installation process, the software should ask you to register with the manufacturer, at this point you need to fill out the information and click "send." The information will go directly through your connection to the manufacturer.
3Contact the manufacturer of your software. If you need to register but cannot locate the previous options, go to the manufacturer's website, which should be listed on the software package. Locate the "contact us" option and ask how to register your program.
